Osbourne avenue though the dene

A short senic running route through the dene. Hilly in places, particularly in the dene itself.

10 mile loop south shields -seaburn

South Shields Coastal Run

This is a very good training route that follows the Coast Road in South Shields (Passed the finishing line for the GNR). It takes you down towards the Sandhaven Beach and up towards Trwo Quarry and onto the coastal track. It's an excellent training route as the track curves in a few places and is slightly hilly in places to get those legs working!!! :)

warm up along riverside u turn and then a run uphill (forth street) across the railway bridge down to Baltic Square to do a lap of the Great North Mile to finish

Wallsend loop

The Great North Mile

This is the Route for the Great North Run. There is an electronic screen on the wall opposite the start/finish lines (in Baltic Square) Whne you step into the start/finish area your name comes up on the electronic board and the timer starts ticking! you can see your laptime comeup when you complete each lap - the times are also put onto the website. Great route and great use of technology. Wallsend loop

A good square route round Wallsend and Walkergate starting at Hadrian Park metro.

Town Moor laps

A 3-mile route round the Town Moor and Grandstand Road - good for doing laps.

myGNR Jesmond short

A short-ish route starting at West Jesmond Metro station and skirting round Jesmond Dene.

myGNR Tynemouth coastal

Run from Tynemouth to Whitley Bay along the sea front going up and down the steps to the beaches and returning via the road.
