Run Back to School

This inaugural event is designed to get students and families excited about the start of the school year, promote healthy living, gather school supply donations for students of need, develop a family-friendly school environment while also gathering additional money to help financially support the students and teachers of Central Elementary.

The 5K run/walk will start at 8:00 am at Central Elementary School (7th and Poplar St.) in Wamego, KS. Registration will be open and race packets available for pick up on Friday, August 17th from 4-7 p.m. at Wamego Central Elementary located at 900 7th St., Wamego, KS. Packet pick-up and race day registration is also available on Saturday, August 18th from 7-7:30 a.m. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome in the 5K run/walk. **While the race will be timed, and awards will be given for the top three finishers in each division, this is a non-competitive race. The Kids Fun Run will start at 9:00 am at Central Elementary in Wamego, KS. All participants in the children’s race will receive an award. Registration for the Kids Fun Run is a free will donation of new school supplies.

Race Day Parking Directions

Families and participants should first utilize the Wamego High School North parking lot. Parking will be prohibited on both Poplar and 8th Street the morning of the race.
