Sea to Stars - Mauna Kea Cycling Challenge is one of the toughest road /mountain bike races in the world. Starting from sea level, the race climbs to 9200 ft. over breathtaking Hawaiian landscape with a total elevation gain of 10,200 ft. The course is 49 miles with grades of up to 17% and most of the steepest climbing above 6000 ft. You must be a well conditioned athlete to finish this event. Cut off times will be in place.
Any person that drops out of this event must check in at any of the aid stations with their race number. A Sag wagon will follow the last rider. The last rider must hit Mauna Kea road by the required time or retire from the race. The awards party will be back at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows. Cash and or Prizes to top three in each division.
