6 courses 14,36,46,63,77, 100 mile. Manned rest stops w/ restrooms & snacks, SAG support. All routes will start at the Big Thicket Baptist Church & are typical scenic South East Texas/Big Thicket country-side. The natural terrain is challenging. Routes will include the beautiful neighboring cities of Kountze,Warren,Hillister,Fred,Spurger,Silsbee, and Lumberton, all on the edge of the Big Thicket National Preserve area.

The SouthEast Texas Hike & Bike Coalition promotes safe cycling across the region.

The money that SETHBC raises from the tour will be used to expand our educational and safety programs.

We hold children’s bicycle safety rodeos throughout the Golden Triangle.

One of our most important safety principles is that everyone – adults and children – should wear a helmet at all times when riding. We also provide a new bicycle helmet for every child attending a rodeo. After properly fitting the helmet, we teach the children proper riding etiquette on a specially constructed safety course. For more information, please see our Web site at www.funtrails.org.

SETHBC has been able to expand this program by giving classroom safety seminars in Golden Triangle elementary schools. Looking ahead, we hope to design a series of age-appropriate informational activity packets to be given to each student attending a seminar.

The SouthEast Texas Hike and Bike Coalition is a 501c3 Corporation.
