The 17th annual Roan Moan offers a strenuous century, metric, 35 mile ride and barbecue. The metric and century rides tour the old Tweetsie Railroad Grade and Doe River before the 7 mile "Moan" up and over Roan Mountain. The 35 mile ride briefly follows the Metric course, then climbs to the top of the mountain and back.
Same-day registration and packet pickup begins 6AM. The century ride starts at 7:00. The metric and 35-mile begin at 8:00. The century and metric courses merge and it's possible all riders could ride together some. Jackets are STRONGLY advised, as it can be wet and cold on the Mountain. Showers and barbecue are provided after the ride. T-shirts are guaranteed for preregistered riders, and available for same-day registrants while supplies last. At the hottest time of the year, come up to one of the prettiest and coolest places you'll ever see.Visit the Event Organizer's Website
